Life is the most interesting thing I've ever gotten into. What fascinates me most about it is the effect of fascination, that you never know what will come, you just know that you will have to deal with it.

This Is All Yours - Alt-J

If you know Alt-J, you’ll definitely like their second album.
If you don’t know them, you have to check them out!

The new album came out today, and I’ve already listened to it three times. I loved their first album and have been listening to it for one and a half years straight, so I was a little anxious approaching the release. (I’m still a little traumatised by The Script who did one of my favourite albums (their debut album) and have now disappointed me for the third time (their 2nd to 4th album are mainstream pop and don’t carry on the greatness of their first one at all).)

But turns out, I didn’t need to worry. The new Alt-J album is amazing. I don’t have a favourite song yet, because they all have their own special sound. I love that the new album is way more experimental than their first one, but I also enjoy “Left Hand Free”, which in my opinion is more of a classical rock song and doesn’t show the usual complexity of Alt-J’s music, but is still a great listen and just makes you love music. “Every Other Freckle” has some dirty lyrics, which make it very sexy and get them out of the nerd-zone. And lastly, I find the switching between the singers in “Warm Foothills” beautiful. It’s a very folky song, which I think Alt-J are perfectly capable of.
I could go on for an hour, but you just have to listen to it.

I do feel like the album is all mine, so I’d say: Goal achieved - Thank you Alt-J for showing us what music can do, what music is for and how it connects to your soul if it’s good!

So, seriously, why would Kylie wanna sing and dance on top of a human pyramid that is skyscraper-high? Does she not care about the people on the bottom getting squished by the weight of a thousand people making up above them? She’s just like “Yeah-woohoo, I’m literally standing on fucking thousands of people and I’m having a damn good time!”

I don’t believe in dead-ends. If we get stuck, we might have to climb over walls, pick locks, or use a sledgehammer to proceed, which makes going back and taking an alternative route easier and more sensible. But there’s no such thing as “getting nowhere”.

My little wool-worm.
